The jury of the 31st Kinotavr Open Russian Film Festival, the largest national film festival in Russia, announced the award winners on September 18.
The film Masha, directed by Anastasia Palchikova, won the prize for best debut. The film is a joint project between Mars Media, 1-2-3 Production (part of Gazprom-Media Holding) and TV-3 channel.
The audience choice award went to the film Doctor Liza. It was made by KIT Film Studio (part of Gazprom-Media Holding) and IVAN Production Center in partnership with NTV channel (also part of Gazprom-Media Holding) and with the participation of Take Shot film company and support of the Russian Ministry of Culture. Rafael Minasbekyan, Dzhanik Fayziev, Alexander Bondarev and Timur Weinstein are the film’s chief producers.
The film Doctor Liza, directed by Oksana Karas (Khoroshiy Malchik/The Good Boy), shows a day in the life of the late Russian humanitarian worker Elizaveta Petrovna Glinka. The script is based on Doctor Liza’s diaries and the stories of her family and friends. Chulpan Khamatova plays the lead role in the film. Other famous actors, including Konstantin Khabensky, Andrey Burkovskiy, Timofey Tribuntsev, Yulia Aug and Tatyana Dogileva, also played roles in the film.
