In 1997 he was the idea author and director of the program Perekhvat (Interception) for NTV, as well as a director of the program Nemedny 61-91. Nasha Era (Our Days 61-91. Our Era). In the late 1990s he worked as a television director and released several projects, including a cycle of New Year’s musical films Starye Pesni o Glavnom (Old Songs about Main Things) for Channel One.
Dzhanik Fayziev was born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on July 30, 1962. In 1983 he graduated from the acting faculty of the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography (VGIK), and in 1991 from the institute’s directing faculty.
He is an assistant professor of the television department at VGIK’s directing faculty and a member of the Public Council of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation. He is also an honoured artist of the North Ossetia-Alania Republic.
2002 - Winner of the Russian Federation state prize in the educational sphere for the television program Formula Vlasti (The Power Formula).
2008 - Zolotoy Oryol award for the best TV movie or mini-series for Diversant. Konets Voiny.
