Biography

Dmitry Chernyshenko was appointed Chief Executive Officer in January 2015.

He currently also serves as President of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) since November 2014.

From October to December 2014, Mr Chernyshenko was Head of the Volga Group investment company, which manages the assets of entrepreneur Gennady Timchenko.

From 2007 to 2014, Dmitry Chernyshenko was the President of the Organizing Committee for the XXII Olympic Winter Games and XI Paralympic Winter Games, which were held in Sochi in 2014. During this time period, Dmitry Chernyshenko was also a member of the Presidium of the Presidential Council on the development of physical fitness and sport, the preparation and hosting of the XXII Olympic Winter Games and XI Paralympic Winter Games, the XXVII Summer Universiade held in 2013 in Kazan, and the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

From 2007 to 2014, Dmitry Chernyshenko was also the Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the State Corporation Olympstroy.

From 2005 to 2007, Mr Chernyshenko led a successful bidding campaign to host the XXII Olympic Winter Games and the XI Paralympic Winter Games of 2014 in Sochi.

Between1998 and 2002, Dmitry Chernyshenko was General Director of the TV production studio DTV-MA. The studio's clients included leading international brands and advertising agencies. It has also received more than 30 awards at domestic and foreign festivals.

In 1989, Mr Chernyshenko established one of the first computer graphics studios in Russia. This studio later served as the foundation for the large communications holding Media Arts.

Dmitry Chernyshenko was born in Saratov on September 20, 1968.

He graduated from the Moscow State University of Technology “Stankin” with a degree in systems engineering.

He is married and has two daughters.

Throughout his career, Dmitry Chernyshenko has received multiple awards, including the Order of St. Sergey Radonezhsky, II Class, for assistance to the Russian Orthodox Church; Order for the Services to the Fatherland, II Class, for the large contribution to organizing and hosting the XXII Olympic and XI Paralympic Winter Games of 2014 in Sochi; Golden Olympic Order; Medal of Honor for ensuring that Sochi won the right to host the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in 2014; Order of St. Sergey Radonezhsky, III Class, Order of Friendship in 2019.

In 2018 Variety magazine included Dmitry Chernyshenko in the rating of most powerful people in media industry Variety 500.
