Alexey Miller


Alexey Miller was appointed Chairman of Gazprom-Media Holding in October 2007.

Since 2002 – Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors, Gazprom.

Since 2001 – Chairman of the Management Committee, Gazprom.

2000 – Appointed Deputy Energy Minister of the Russian Federation.

1999 to 2000 – General Director of Baltiyskaya Truboprovodnaya Sistema (Baltic Pipeline System).

1996 to 1999 – Director of Development and Investments, Sea Port of St. Petersburg.

1991 to 1996 – Worked in the External Relations Committee of St. Petersburg's City Hall. Head of the Markets Monitoring Division, Foreign Economic Relations Directorate; Head of the Foreign Economic Relations Directorate; Deputy Chairman of the External Relations Committee.

1990 – Junior Researcher at the Leningrad Finance and Economics Institute; Section Head of the Economic Reform Committee, Executive Committee of the Leningrad City Council.

1986 – Started postgraduate studies at the Leningrad Finance and Economics Institute and received the Candidate of Economic Sciences (PhD) degree after defending his dissertation in 1989.

Alexey Miller was born in Leningrad on January 31, 1962. He received his school diploma in 1979 and enrolled in the Voznesensky Leningrad Finance and Economics Institute. Upon graduation, he worked as an engineer-economist in the General Planning Division, Leningrad Civil Construction Research and Design Institute, specifically on the LenNIIproekt civil construction project under the Executive Committee of the Leningrad City Council.

He has received multiple awards, including the Order for the Services to the Fatherland, IV Class; Medal of the Order for the Services to the Fatherland, II Class; Order of the Hungarian Republic Cross, II Class, for services in energy cooperation; St. Mesrop Mashtots Order (Republic of Armenia); Dostyk (Friendship) Oder, II Class (Republic of Kazakhstan); Order of St. Sergey Radonezhsky of the Russian Orthodox Church, II Class and a Patriarchal Merit Certificate.
